Race and crime is a significant area of study in both criminology, criminal justice and other disciplines.  Released in April, 2011, Race and Crime: A Text/Reader combines textual material with recent, carefully edited articles from well-known and emerging scholars. The book presents historical and contemporary issues such as race and ethnicity concepts, the extent of crime and victimization, theoretical perspectives on race and crime, juvenile justice, policing, courts and sentencing, the death penalty and corrections. Edited readings from leading journals present readers with research on the history of Native Americans and the reexamination of American organized crime, intimate partner homicide, disproportionate minority confinement of juveniles, suspects race and police use of tasers, and mass incarceration.
One review:
An extremely well thought out book which approaches the aspects of race and crime from many dimensions. Because it is laid out logically it is easy for students to comprehend and the additional discussion questions after each chapter assist with the overall utilisation of the book
